Baozi 包子: round, fully enclosed Chinese filled buns—not folded gua bao pockets.

Recipe testing policy

A recipe label should tell you what has actually happened in a kitchen. Our status appears beside the formula—not in fine print after it.

01

Research draft

A provisional formula assembled for testing. It may draw on several references, but the displayed method has no documented human cook yet.

02

Test batch

At least one complete cook has been recorded with weights, temperatures, equipment, photographs, results and planned revisions.

03

Kitchen-tested

The revised formula has succeeded repeatedly under recorded conditions. We state the number and scope of tests instead of using “foolproof.”

Minimum batch record

What a documented baozi test includes.

  • Date, test cook, room temperature and dough temperature
  • Ingredient brands and weights, including bench flour and vegetable yield
  • Dough and filling weight per bun, seal failures and proofing observations
  • Steamer material, diameter, loading pattern, water start and heat level
  • Steam time, covered rest and verified center temperature for meat fillings
  • Fresh, cooled and reheated texture with original photographs of the result

Publishing rules

What stays off until the evidence exists.

Recipe structured data

Disabled while the formula is a research draft. Search markup must not imply a finished recipe.

Ratings and reviews

Not invented, imported or displayed without a real collection and moderation process.

Nutrition estimates

Not shown until ingredient yield and final serving size are stable enough to calculate responsibly.

Storage promises

Added only after the final wrapper, filling, packaging and reheating method have been tested together.
